In the third quarter of 2022, Brazil's top communication apps on the Android platform exhibited diverse trends in downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top 5 apps, based on Sensor Tower data.

WhatsApp Messenger experienced a consistent download rate, ranging from approximately 323K to 417K weekly. The app also maintained a high level of engagement, with weekly active users fluctuating slightly around the 98M mark throughout the quarter.

WhatsApp Business saw weekly downloads between 279K and 331K. Active users increased steadily from around 12.6M to 13.2M by the end of the quarter. Revenue remained minimal, peaking at around $3 in the final week of September.

Telegram had weekly downloads generally between 263K and 302K. Active user numbers showed a slight decline, moving from approximately 14.8M to 14.4M over the quarter. Revenue displayed a positive trend, starting at $1.1K and rising to about $2.4K by the end of September.
